Our History:

In the Spring of 1998, the Holy Spirit impressed upon Pastor Steve Young to start a new Apostolic Spirit-filled church in the city of Dixon, Illinois.  Pastor Young answered the call of the Lord and Greater Life Tabernacle was birthed. The first services were held in September of 1998 at the "Lee County Council on Aging" Center at 100 W. Second St. in Dixon, Illinois.  Additional midweek services were held at the "Loveland Community Center" at 513 W. Second St.

After three years of holding services in various facilities in Dixon, the Lord has blessed us with a church building at 1403 Hemlock Avenue in Dixon.  This is the eighth year since our inception and we rejoice in what the Lord has done!  It's a beautiful thing to see lives changed, born-again into the Kingdom of God, grow in understanding of Jesus Christ, and spiritually mature using their God-given gifts to bless and minister in the body of Christ.

Our Vision, Purpose, & Family:

Our Vision... to be a spiritual hospital where the hurting, troubled, addicted, captive, wandering, and lost soul can find love, hope, forgiveness, healing, deliverance, restoration, and purpose in life through Jesus Christ.  Through our church ministries, fellowship, and loving discipleship we will endeavor to encourage people to reach their full potential using their God-given gifts to help others and to minister in the body of Christ.

Our Purpose... to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people in the city of Dixon, in the surrounding area, and throughout the world.  That "as many as the Lord shall call" might come to know, experience, and enjoy the "Greater Life" that can be found in Jesus Christ our Lord. 

Our Church Family... is an exciting fellowship of Spirit-filled believers.  A people of powerful prayer, joyful praise and worship, and who exalt the name of Jesus!
